Social Design for Sustainable Cities

A two-day conference with interactive panels, accompanied by workshops and methodology master classes, complemented by a poster contest and exhibition by international design students.

More than 50% of the world’s population lives in cities, increasing to 68% by 2050. Over the next decades cities will be critically challenged by densification and concentration. This project aims to highlight and strengthen the involvement of culture and social design in the societal debate on sustainable cities. It provides a platform for creative minds using arts as a tool for sustainable urban innovation, connecting them with practitioners, decision-makers, activists and students. The project consists of a two-day conference with interactive panels, accompanied by workshops and methodology master classes, complemented by a poster contest and exhibition by international design students.
