European Spring Design

EUNIC Bangkok

Design is very important in Thailand. Each university has a design department and international exchanges around fashion professions are encouraged by the Ministry of Commerce in Thailand. From March to May 2018 several European countries in Bangkok are conducting singular projects in this field. Complementing the individual activities of the cluster’s members with a European dimension, EUNIC Bangkok is developing a co-creation project partnering 6 European fashion design students from 6 European schools and 6 Thai fashion students from Silpakorn University to design and produce clothes and accessories together, focusing on the theme of sustainable development. A 10-15-day workshop will allow each couple to dress a mannequin using recycled material. Their work will be presented at TCDC (Thailand Creative and Design Centre) Bangkok as well as EUNIC cluster members premises and other Thai fairs linked to fashion. In the future, the cluster hopes to create new opportunities with new partners, and to develop special links between Silpakorn University and European schools.
