EUNIC Austria

Austria: SOCIAL INCLUSION THROUGH ART

With EUNInClusive the cluster in Austria initiated an art competition and a call for projects targeting UNESCO Schools in Austria. Schools were welcomed to work with any kind of art medium, but focusing on social inclusion through culture and art. A jury composed of the members of the working group and two externals selected four diverse projects by seven schools, which received € 1,000 each to realise their art project. Furthermore, they were invited to form a partnership with one EUNIC Austria member that coached them during the production of their work. The implementation of the school projects took place during the ongoing school year, allowing participants to internalise the meaning of social inclusion and actively implementing social inclusion on a day-to-day basis thus making a long-term impact on the young generation. The final project presentation was held at a ceremony in Salzburg during a joint workshop from Monday 16 April to Tuesday 17 April 2018. The participating schools spent these two days with joint activities and an evening programme where they presented and discussed their projects.
