Vacancy: Cluster Development Manager position

EUNIC Global is currently looking for a new team member responsible for managing the network of clusters. We are accepting applications until 24 February.

Purpose of Job

To manage the development of the EUNIC cluster network and contribute to the delivery of the outcomes of the vision and strategy agreed by the EUNIC General Assembly

Responsibilities and main duties

·     To coordinate the strategic and operational development of EUNIC’s cluster network worldwide

·      To manage and maintain working relationships with cluster representatives

·      To effectively and efficiently manage the Cluster Fund and to be accountable for its financial viability

·      To conceptualise and organise seminars and workshops

·      To report to the EUNIC General Assembly, the Board of Directors and other stakeholders

·      To assure and oversee EUNIC’s involvement in project and programme consortiums

·      To develop and manage working relationships with EU officials and EEAS staff as well as MEPs to ensure EUNIC’s strategic partnership with EU bodies and an effective contribution to policy making and planning in cultural diplomacy and cultural relations

·      To contribute to EUNIC communications and other projects and tasks


Key relationships

·      EUNIC cluster representatives, EUNIC members’ ‘focal points’, EUNIC members’ heads

·      Officials at all levels in the European Commission, EEAS, European Parliament, Council of Europe and EU presidencies

·      Partner institutions and other European networks and organisations


Experience and requirements

·      Postgraduate degree (Masters) or equivalent in a related discipline such as cultural policy and development, cultural diplomacy, cultural management, international relations, cultural and creative economy; a genuine interest in cultural relations is essential

·      At least 5 years of full-time professional experience working in or with EU institutions, on EU funded projects and programmes, or in the cultural relations sector

·      Excellent working knowledge of European institutions, their funding mechanisms and processes

·      Substantive understanding of EUNIC, its members and the approach to the EU strategy for international cultural relations as well as the political developments linked to it

·      Experience in working in an international context; outside the EU desirable

·      Excellent project and budget management skills

·      Excellent networking and intercultural skills

·      Excellent communication and writing skills

·      Team spirit, strong resilience, flexibility

·      Strong analytical skills

·      Language proficiency: English on C1 level (oral and written) and at least one other EU language on C1 level, ideally French


Other features or requirements of the job

This post will entail considerable travelling requirements worldwide.

The post holder will be based in Brussels and will work from the EUNIC Global Office (open plan) located at Rue Ravenstein 18, 1000 Brussels (opposite Bozar)
