Report on the EUNIC-EU relationship presented at Senior Officials Meeting in Linz, Austria

On 6 and 7 September 2018 an informal senior officials meeting organised by the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU took place in Linz on the margins of the Ars Electronica Festival.

Senior officials for culture from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Ministries of Culture from the EU Member States as well as participants from the European Commission, the European External Action Service and EUNIC took part in the 2-days meeting including three intensive working sessions and an additional cultural programme.

The discussions took place on a strategic approach for international cultural relations of the European Union. For the first-time the "Report on the current state of the partnership between EUNIC clusters & EU Delegations" was introduced to the representatives of the EU Member States. The Director of EUNIC Global, Ms Gitte Zschoch, presented the report and the recommendations within it that were discussed intensively. Furthermore, the audience enjoyed the first official screening of the two-minute version of the EUNIC Best-of film by the English filmmaker Gemma Riggs, who had been commissioned by EUNIC Global and the Austrian Presidency of the Council to produce a documentary on the work and impact of EUNIC including projects by clusters all over the world. The film project is currently being finalised and the two minutes trailer as well as longer versions of the movie will be presented soon to a wider public.
