EU National Institutes for Culture - EUNIC

Published: Results of EUNIC Cluster Fund 2019

15 EUNIC projects were selected for co-financing under the Cluster Fund 2019 with a total of 188,300 Euros. The selected projects deal with topics such as environmental sustainability, European integration, sustainable cities and urbanism, women empowerment and youth. The EUNIC Cluster Fund is EUNIC’s single instrument to steer joint work worldwide. It is composed of members’ contributions.

The EUNIC Cluster Fund Call for Proposals was open from 4 September until 6 November. In total 33 proposals were submitted by EUNIC clusters, 16 from the EU and 17 from the rest of the world. The overall quality of all submitted proposals reached an all-time high. No proposal dropped under the score of 66%. The 16 selected proposals have received a score between 94 and 100%.

Clusters were able to request up to 15,000 Euros while co-financing 50 percent was also required. The available envelope for this call was 203,700 Euros. Six projects will take place in the EU and nine in the rest of the world. At least three EUNIC members are needed to submit a proposal and this needs to be based on the cluster’s three-year strategy.

The following selection criteria – based on the principles presented in the EU strategic approach to international cultural relations – were applied: relevance to local context, alignment with cultural relations’ principles, feasibility, partnerships, impact and visibility. The EUNIC Global team, together with two colleagues from the British Council in Athens and the Lithuanian Cultural Institute participating in the Job Shadowing scheme, carried out the evaluation and pre-selection of proposals. The final awarding decision was made by the EUNIC Board of Directors.
